On the way to Talkeetna
It’s a long drive of around 6 hours from Fairbanks to Talkeetna. We decided to take a stop over in Denali for lunch and spend some time in the park before heading to Talkeetna.
The Morino Grill inside Denali had some very good sandwiches that we had for lunch. The group was tired for a mini hike, so decided to watch movies about the Denali park, Grizzlies and their history in the park. The kids spent some time inside the Science center. Arvind did the Junior Ranger program by finishing up his activity in order to get the Ranger Badge. He took the oath with the Ranger and received the Junior Ranger Badge inside the Visitor center.
Started to Talkeetna for the night stay and took like 3 hour drive from Denali. There were limited options for dinner in Talkeetna and I personally wanted to taste the Alaskan Salmon & halibut. We were able to get the Grilled Salmon & Halibut as a package with the Cajun flavor.
Our stay at the “The Laughing Moose” cabins was very well maintained and had good number of amenities. Just like the Denali home, I liked this cabin that was secluded from the city and overall a nice stay.
We are heading back to Seattle tomorrow but the weather looks to be bad. There are 50% chance of rain, so it’s going to be very limited time in Anchorage tomorrow.
